Well, I heard about this on the radio a couple of weeks ago, and I was pretty amused until I finally came across a photo (who knew it would be as simple as the google search "blond lobster"). Isn't nature fascinating? Why would a lobster-esque creature from the deep sea need/evolve hair? I love that it's blind and albino too, really that takes the cake. Naturally being blind at such great depth in the black ocean is no less of an advantage than having functional eyes (this character barely has an eye membrane apparently), but what advantage does the hair serve? Feelers? What about the albino-ness? Would it not be more visible to predators? I have no idea. I'm not a biologist, but I imagine a side of grilled asparagus and new red potatoes would be perfect.
