Last Stop on the Main Tunnel Tour

I can see the light!

We seem to have landed in a cable repository. Blue and orange are fun colours.

The endless stream of orange and yellow twisted wires...

Or maybe it was a chair repository that we arrived in?

Or some sort of switchboard action?

Either way, this is the view looking back from whence we came.

Pigeons hang out below the library

The library AC filter appears to be producing a lot of foam.

It's rather a large filter...

MAJOR pigeon deposits here.

The tunnel under the pool

The question was, what is so important on the roof of the men's washroom that requires razor wire?

The stairs leading down to the pool tunnel.

I love nameless boards of submarine-looking knobs and dials. I was very glad to see another one!

I have no idea where you'd have to be in the pool vicinity to look down into where I was looking up for this photo

Blue means cold and red means hot?

Reassuringly there were alkali deposits along the walls. That means there is NO leaking, right?
These wires were also reassuring. They are right next to the alkali crust too.

I thought the colours in this picture were pretty.

Final Stop: Air Flow System (Gym)

Fuse boxes look neat when they're lit up.

The big fan motor (off, so as to avoid chopping up engineering students)

Beautifully disgusting goo-blob of grease to keep things running smoothly.

The big ol' fan belt in back that keeps it running (fan belt operating fan, that one really makes sense, doesn't it?)

Very old whisk broom hanging out in the corner by another secret doorway!

Oh... it only leads to an extremely dusty swamp cooler. Not overly exciting. But of course, since I went in there (NO ROOM WHATSOEVER) everyone followed with "what's in here?"

It's Vegas Baby

What am I talking about? Next weekend. That's right. But it's probably not what you think.

Much too short of a weekend reunion

After far too long, the 3 beautiful Burs(z)tyn girls were reunited. Curse my shortness next to those two, completely unfair!!!! And what the heck is my hair doing???

We figured it had been 5 years since Peppermint Patty and Pearl were last together!

Super Cousin's Preferred Mode of Transportation

Possibly the best catching up time was had when we took my cousin to her riding lesson, cool breezy country air, something to watch, time to chat...

Molly Chub Chub

"mmm... that volleyball sure was delicious, but now all I can reach are my paws... oh well, better clean them up good to compensate"

Molly Chub Chub (known just as Molly to the household members, I tastefully added the Chub Chub to allow for her generous physique) is one of 4 cats now occupying my aunt's new residence in Reseda.

commercial...

I finally found this commercial online. Generally I hate commercials, but I find this one terribly funny.

Who misses Kiki?

Don't even try to deny not missing the giant ball of orange purring fur. I know you do.
He likes to keep me company when I'm knitting something - and most of the time that's fine (see above).

But then he'll roll over, which becomes slightly less helpful, and slightly more annoying.

Of course that doesn't mean it's not cute or anything...

MRI fun

I recently had an MRI done of my neck to try an locate the source of the tingling and numbness in my shoulder/arm. I thought the pictures were sooooooooo cool looking that I asked the MRI nurse if I could have one to keep. Unfortunately the MRI film doesn't scan as well as one might want - but you get the idea.

Sweater. Finished.

I actually finished this upon my return from Calgary. But yesterday, in an effort to clean up stuff that was just lying around I finally took a picture (with much effort) of myself in it.

Read the sticker on the lower bar of this bike.

A Post For Kilometres

This is San Luis' "Bubblegum Alley".
I held back vomit to take these photos for you, Kilometres.

A Photo for Lulu

The Canadian in California Celebrates 1 Year!

Morro Rock - a volcanic plug (geology tutorial for Kilometres!) on the coast.

Can you spot the otter?

Irish Girl and I on the rocks.

Pi and Irish Girl helped me celebrate my "anniversary" by giving me the tour.

Pelis! I wished their beak pouches were filled with fish, but they weren't.

Having been in Bake-town for a year, it was time to head to the Coast finally. Not that I haven't been, technically - the OC and Manhattan Beach - but not "my" coast. Not the Coast directly West of me. That Coast would be Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo.

Now I understand the purpose of "pawsense"

And what is "pawsense" exactly? A software program designed to detect "cat-like typing" and protect your files...

Instant Flip Flops

I whipped these up this afternoon. Soles are a little too soft - need to work on that (but comfy!). I used quilt batting, cork and leather, and may need to invest in this magic little item that keeps the midsole of the shoe stiff for future endeavours. These little suckers you could sew up out of just about anything... just made a skirt or dress? Need shoes to match? Have a little leftover fabric? Done and done. I think I might be high on contact cement fumes... wheeeeee! Note to self: must buy sewing machine needles that can handle leather. Note to self: leaving notes to self on blog may be mark of insanity.

Rearranging...

Starting the new school year off right, as is my own personal tradition, I completely rearranged my living space. Since parties that mainly take place in the kitchen seem to be my norm, I decided that comfy seating that was in the proximity of the kitchen was the way to go. Now my back hurts.
